So who’s ready to say goodbye to 2020? Most, if not all, of you probably are! It’s been a horrible year, and 2021 couldn’t come soon enough. Fortunately for everyone, the brand-new year is just around the corner, and with it comes the opportunity for all of you to start anew. Of course, this also means it’s now time for you to come up with your New Year’s resolution list.
If you still haven’t gotten around to making your New Year’s resolution list, here are some great ideas to help you get started.
Challenge yourself
One way to become stronger, wiser, and just better as a person is by challenging yourself. So come 2021, let go of your fears, doubts, and anything that’s been holding you back and do things that’ll challenge you. Perhaps you’ve already written a fantasy novel that’s only eating up space on your computer hard drive. Buckle down to work and learn more about self-publishing your own books. Or maybe you are now middle-aged and doubt you could still try martial arts. Enroll yourself in a Jiu-Jitsu or Wing Chun class and show everyone you can still get the best of them. Don’t worry about failing at your chosen endeavor. What matters is that you took on the challenge.
Make yourself healthy
More likely than not, COVID-19 will still be around for the better part of 2021—all the more reason for you to take better care of your overall health in the coming year. If you don’t exercise, make it a point to get more active in 2021. Obviously, you also need to eat and drink well, get enough sleep and rest, and avoid vices. Make sure you have some quiet time to meditate, reflect, and be alone with your thoughts at the end of each day as well. However, avoid dwelling on negative thoughts. And if you have problems, don’t be afraid to talk to someone—a family member, a friend, or even a healthcare professional—and ask for help.
Love yourself more
With everything that has happened this year, you’ve probably run yourself into the ground. Promise yourself, then, that you’ll love yourself more in 2021. From time to time, indulge yourself and do whatever you want to do. If it’s going on a shopping spree, then go for it. Do you dream of going on a 100-day cruise around the world? Make it happen! Or maybe you want to spend an entire day in your pajamas binge-watching Netflix shows or reading your favorite novel at home. Go ahead and do it! And remember never to feel guilty about giving yourself some love once in a while because you deserve to be loved, especially by your own self.
Say Hello to 2021
It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021. Welcome the year 2021 with renewed hope and vigor and a promise to be a better version of yourself. You can start doing this by challenging yourself, making yourself healthy, and loving yourself more this coming year.
Have a better, if not great, year ahead, everyone!
